I love Halloween :)

I just love the whole premise of Halloween...
Dress up, eat candy, and act silly.
Right up my alley.
Here we are at the ward function-

Trunk- or- treatin' it up
We're Salt and Pepper shakers...
just in case you couldn't tell ;)
And just check out all these creative costumes.
Love it.

The Jurassic Park Gang
(Lil' dinosaur and paleontologists)
 The Crayon Fam
 Texans ;)
Luchadores
 Pumpkin and cute witch
 Dunder Mifflin warehouse workers
 Mario crew!
And my personal favorite, Nacho Libre and Sister Incarnacion.
 Hahaha
I love Halloween.
Tomorrow- Christmas decorations go up ;)

Not to be mushy... but two years ago tonight, this boy proposed.
Best night ever!
I dunno how many of you know our proposal story.
But it's good.
Please keep reading kuz I promise... you WILL laugh :)
It'd been a long day- I had just finished up a bunch of performances with the folk dance team up in Sandy (near Salt Lake). Jon was our team TA so naturally, he was there as well. He talked about maybe having a date in Salt Lake after the performance, so we did.
We went to Temple Square and went on a carriage ride.
 Romantic, yes. Pricey, yes.
I knew something was up kuz we were even MORE cheap back then, than we are now.
After the ride, we walked around Temple Square... headed for the reflection pool.
Not the reflection pool!
Everyone and their dog get proposed to in front of the reflection pool!
On my mission, my trainer and I made fun of people proposed to in front of the reflection pool!
I had to get us out of there.
Jon kind of slowed near the reflection pool....
but not me.
"I'm cold- we hafta keep walking."
Phew. Disaster averted.
We kept walking.
We walked across the street to a little park.
Stopped on a little bridge.
But before this next part, I hafta back up.
Rewind.
All while dating Jon had been learning some Polish phrases to impress me.
Fast forward.
We are on the bridge. Jon says "I've been learning some new Polish!"
"Oh really? Tell me"
I can see him think think thinking....
"I will make love to myself forever...
Will you be my wife?"
Hahahaha I tried to contain the laughter and told him "Yes!"
As we walked back to the car... I broke the news to him.
He had been trying to tell me that he'd LOVE me forever....
but instead he told me that he'd make love to himself forever.
What a sweet promise ;)
Silly Polish reflexive pronouns.

A Visit From Mom...

Jon's mom came to visit this past weekend and we had a blast!
It's always fun to have visitors come kuz we do things around town that we wouldn't normally do otherwise!
So here is a picture overload of our weekend adventure...
it was jam packed.
I had to work Friday... so Jon and his mom went on a walk in Hermann Park...
Got off work early and headed to the Galleria for some window shopping-
(that place is too pricey for our blood!)
Jon ALMOST bought an Armani suit.... (ok not really)
 The mall
Dinner at Niko Niko's... our favorite Mediterranean cuisine
Stuffed peppers, gyros and feta fries... Mmmmm.
 Feeling pretty stuffed afterwards!
Then back over to Hermann Park for some Miller Outdoor Theatre fun!
 Seats- front and center
We saw this guy... Benise.
Hahaha he loved to flip his curly locks all over while playing his Spanish Geetar.
Saturday morning we headed down to Brazos Bend State Park...
home of LOTS of alligators!
Yep- there's Mr. Alligator... soaking up the sun.
And 10 feet away.
Another one... can you spot him?
"Please do not annoy the alligators" was posted everywhere.
We clearly followed instructions.
This man poked them with sticks and we threw rocks at them.
What a bonus- we saw even more wildlife than alligators.
Check out this HUGE spider.
He's kind of hard to see kuz the background trees are dark.
See him?
 And cute turtles.
Just try not to think about them being the alligators food :(
I just think this picture is cool :)
 We've converted her!
Can't leave out the Texas BBQ!
Pedicures while a certain boy watched football :)
We went and saw "Shrek- The Musical"
Didn't know it's a musical?
Well it is- and it was hilarious!
We loved it!
 Makin' punkin cinammon rolls.
Yummy.
And had to say "Good-bye" this morning :(
Please come again!
And that offer extends to anyone!
Feeling cold and blue? Come to Houston- it's still 90 degrees here :)

The Mad Potter...

Before Jon and I got married- we made matching cereal bowls at "Color Me Mine" a paint your own pottery studio, and had a blast!
If it wasn't so darn expensive, I would have done that every date night.
WELL we found a coupon (thanks Groupon) to a place here that does the same thing.
And again, we had the best time!
Something about leisurely painting while chatting.... is just so much fun.

And here are the finished products...
We FINALLY have a toothbrush holder again.
(Jon was going crazy without one)
And it even matches our bathroom...
We were pretty proud of our logo...
And our poor platter that got chipped on the corner (bottom left side)...
they tried to fix it by repainting it,
but to no avail.
Oh well- they gave us a free repaint sooo it looks like we'll be going back!

And it upbraideth not... or does it?

So there we were... watching "Harry Potter"
(we're prepping for HP7 to come out next month)
and Jon's head is laying on my lap...
I can't really explain why... I just started braiding.
And this is what happened.

Turns out I can french braid his hair!
Yes or No
Jon looks great in braids- and
Amelia should braid Jon's hair everyday for school.

Up to Fort Worth for some college football!

Saturday morning we drove up to Fort Worth to see some BYU football.
Say what you will about their team this year.
We know they're not good.
They're actually just "NOT good", but kind of embarrassing at times.
But you can't abandon your team in a time of need, right?
We remain true blue...
AND here are some pics from the escapade.

Jon picked his hair all morning for his football fro.
Excited? Yes!
Ummm... I'm thinking that it's not gonna fit on your head...
Out to lunch before the game- here's Addie sporting her first official face painting.
Like mother, like daughter
The whole crew
TCU Stadium
We had pretty good seats for the defeat...
although it WAS in the sun for the WHOLE game.
It was H-O-T
The Ellsworths
Face paint for me
Half-time party in the shade eating slushie stuff, and trying to desperately cool off!
And really- how can you not love this atmosphere?
Even if you do lose ;)

Go Cougars!
