Thirty Days Hath September...

I signed up to take the GRE.
That's right- I have this crazy idea that I want to go back to school.
Each night, I get a math tutorial from Jon... which usually ends up in tears and frustration.
(Jon of course is the one crying...)
I don't think I've taken a college math class since 2004.
Yeah- it's bad.

Enter blogging break.
Something that requires minimal brain cells, perfect!

September has been good to us.
I mean- how could life NOT be good with this guy around?
September brought a fair share of pool parties-
because yes, it's still quite warm.
It started with Labor Day and cousins.
I think Mondays should ALWAYS be a holiday.
Seminary pool party!
Pool party with our clogging family!
Pool with friends at a resort north of Houston!
September brought lots of free food...
September brought Friday night lights and football, football, football!
September brought time with friends...
September brought fun with the youth at our church!
AND September brought cooler weather.
Psych!
Fooled you.
Until then- we burn the pumpkin candle and pretend like it's Fall.
Goodbye September!

200th Blog Post!

A monumental occasion for a 200th blog post...
Ok not really.
I finally made my way to Mississippi and am just happy to be back with my Jon.
People always ask if we like Mississippi...
and we do.
It's a slower pace of life,
and it's just refreshing to not have much to do.

We slept in until 10:30...
(Who does that? I haven't done that since high school! I think I had a Girls Camp hangover... more about girls camp coming soon...)
went grocery shopping...
played the Wii...
and just hung out.
Cheers to Mississippi, a relaxing summer, and 200 blog posts
:)

-The Weekend-

Sometimes I go through these phases where I feel so self-centered and think
"Why do I even blog in the first place?"
Surely no one wants to read about our existence...
except my mom...
and maybe Jon's mom...
and that's about it.
So this is for the moms, and anyone else who cares to read :)

I feel like weekends are mini-vacations... and that they were divinely inspired.
I don't know how we'd get through life without weekends.
That being said- we try to make them interesting.
We're in love with painting our own pottery...
so we went again.
Jon's piece is my favorite... a big "Y"... wonder what that's for.
We now have a collection of 2 cereal bowls, 2 platters, salt and pepper shakers, and a cup that's been painted by us.
So fun.

Another one of our obsessions, as of late, are these.
You guessed it.
Another murder mystery party!
It was a night at the speakeasy with a bunch of Mafia members from Chicago up to no good.
Torchy and Billy Thrower
Harrow and Molly Mawbster
Ernie G. Ambler and Silky M. Adam
Scoop and Socks
Love, love, love a good murder :)

And last but not least, I talked Jon into doing this on Saturday.
Standing in line from 9:00 am to 6:00 at night...
to do what?
To audition for "America's Got Talent"!
(I wasn't able to go with him... and I'm the one who suggested it in the first place.
Some supportive wife I am...)
Lots of lines
and lots of waiting.
Look for him in bright lime green when they show Houston :)
Oh and we'll find out if he makes it at the end of March...
If all goes well
maybe we'll be millionaires by the end of the summer ;)
