FINALLY!!

It's official- I unpacked and put away the LAST box today! It's taken us a month and a half (good grief) but it's done... I even convinced Jon to let me decorate our bedroom (since it was lacking in cute-ness). With some help from my mom, we made it look nice! I'm pretty sure we're all done unpacking and decorating... (at least for now!) In the meantime- lemme take you on a tour of our lil' one bedroom apartment in Houston.

Welcome to our dining room
Our kitchen
Living room
The OTHER side of our living room. You'd think that I have that bouncy ball to work out..
but no- it's mostly used to sit at the computer and blog
Our pool right outside our balcony! Yay! The best part is- Houston stays warm enough for a pool YEAR round :)
Our newly furnished bedroomAnd I leave you here... in the bathroom. Hope everything comes out ok!

What do the Brames do on Thursday Nights?

We stand in line (along with 100 other people) in order to eat free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches!
Yum, Yum... Not much tastes better than free food

Only in Texas

So we walked out of the our church building today to find this in the parking lot... I couldn't stop laughing, but managed to take a picture... priceless. Definitely one of those "Only in Texas" moments.

Date Night!

Well- we couldn't handle watching the BYU game anymore... so I decided to blog while we watched something light and happy.... which means we are watching the Hannah Montana movie (Jon's idea). BUT we made matching pajama pants last night for date night... hahaha... here's how they turned out.

Jon's got the iron-on letters...

I've got the iron...

And voila! So... "making" pajama pants means ironing on letters to already made pants.
Oh stop, stop, I know- we're so domestic...

Oops.. I ironed on the "E" backwards...

And of course you can't make pants without having a photo shoot!
We call this one "Model with a corny escort"

"Blue steel"

"Too many people in a doorway"

"Hopak"
Well... Hannah Montana needs me...

BYU Football and Labor DAY!!!

We started our adventure on Friday... after Jon got out of school. We got stuck in Houston traffic, BLEH!- so made the best use of our time :)

I see Dallas!
We bought blue eyeliner and silver nail polish to show our Cougar pride!
And here we are! Cowboys Stadium! What you CAN'T see in this picture is the MASS of people dressed in red... Oklahoma's colors....
A little bit of pre-game festivities

Woot yeah! Inside only 20 rows back!!
Looking at the concession stand was a little disheartening... Water bottle- $5.00 Hot dog- $8.50 NO WAY! I'm not paying that for a hot dog! We did find a heaping plate of nachos for $8.50... which we grudgingly paid for and shared for dinner

GO BYU!!

Bah!! 14-13 with 3 minutes left!

Ah! This game is so stressful! We won!!! The small BYU crowd went CRAZY!!
Those are our boys :)
YEAH! GO COUGS!!!
The next day at testimony meeting, everyone had sore throats and was hoarse from the game :) We took a gander downtown and found the temple! And on Monday, we made our way back home to Houston. I took a picture of this sign kuz Jon is from Richland, WA.... the ironic thing is we ended up breaking down in Richland... and spending our Labor Day on the side of the road trying to get our car fixed.... LAME!Waiting in a gas station for a mechanic to come and help us...

Our mechanic friends... with mullet and all! One of my favoritest quotes from these two..
"I used to live in Dallas... too big there. I moved to Richland. Only gots 200 people. Wild pigs runs across your yards... I can shoot it and have it on the grill by supper time."
Sounds like the life ;)
A somewhat lousy end ($1,000 poorer) to an AWESOME weekend!
