CAMPING!!!

So it all started last Christmas... I got Jon sleeping bags for Christmas (thinking we'd be having lots of camping adventures). THEN we got a tent for our wedding! Yep, this meant we were BOUND to do lots of camping! But one problem... our last semester at BYU was snow filled (and Jon HATES being cold), in May we were apart (boo) and we left glorious Utah in June and moved to Mississippi. Oh don't worry- there are PLENTY of places to camp down there... but they were all in the sweltering heat with mosquitoes and gators. I know, I know, we're kind of wimpy. NEEDLESS to say, our tent and sleeping bags had not been used... UNTIL one beautiful day in Houston (high of about 60 degrees) we decided to go camping... on our BALCONY! (Give us a break it was kind of a last minute thing...)

And tried to sleep on a really hard floor...turns out that normal ground is a lot softer than wooden planks ;)

Our Mom Visitors

Welp- sadly it has ended. I just took my mom back to the airport to return home :( These past two weeks both Jon's mom AND my mom paid us a visit- making it the best two weeks EVER. We don't get many visitors being way down here, but we're both SOOOOOO grateful that they were able to come out. Here are some pics of our many adventures with them in Houston....

U2 Concert

Despite Houston's bad traffic, there are a few perks that come with living in the 4th largest city in the nation... one of which includes that EVERYONE comes here for concerts- including the INFAMOUS U2!! Jon and I discovered that U2 would be in Houston while we were living in Mississippi this past summer, and jumped all over the opportunity. Thanks to eBay we found some good priced tickets on the FLOOR!! Needless to say, the concert was magical, Bono was incredible, and the beer drinkers and weed smokers next to us were an especially nice touch ;)

Amelia's Debut as a Choreographer

Yep.. that's my name on the program right there. You'd better get my autograph now kuz I may just be famous one day.... hahaha yeah right. I've been working for the past couple of months with a kid's theatre company, "Kids Backporch Productions," helping them choreograph for their Biblical musical of Queen Esther called "Esther-Ordinary Faith." The kids were cute (and sometimes crazy to work with)... but it was a LOT of fun... even though it nearly consumed my life ;)

Piano!

We bought a piano off of Craig's list! Yeah, yeah I know... it's in our bedroom- we dont' exactly have room to put it anywhere else. BUT for the time being it works AND it's nice to have a finger work out again ;)
