College Football is Back!

Football is back in season!
I didn't know too much about football before I married Jon...
but lucky for me, he's somewhat extremely passionate about the sport and has filled me in.
I do enjoy watching BYU play...
Go Cougars!
And since Jon puts up with my antics and crazy hobbies/passions all year long-
I figure I can support four months of football, football, football.
It's good to have a passion in life, right?
It DOES help the situation when Saturday morning he wakes up, makes breakfast, does the dishes, starts the laundry and goes grocery shopping...
"You keep doing that, and you can watch ALL the football you want!"
:)

Summer Isn't Over!

Yes, we are in denial here.
Sure school is back in session and we're both busy out of our minds,
but summer isn't over.
We are trying to hang onto summer for as long as we can.
Thus, our past two weekends have been spent here.
THE beach
Life is good when there are waves, a boogie board, and a grill.
Sure the water is brown...
And it makes your swimsuit green...
But it's still the beach!
 And we love it.
May summer never end...

ANNNND We're Back!

Don't deny it.
You missed my crazy students all summer, didn't ya?
Well lucky for you-
we're almost back.
Monday marks the dawn of the 2012-2013 school year... and I'm sure there will be ghetto fabulous stories to be told!
In the meantime, I'll be at mind-numbing meetings about useless things we already know.
And although I'm loving the free breakfasts and lunches... maybe we should redistribute that money and give it to the teachers for their non-existent classroom budget... ?
No really- we have $0 for our classroom.
Zip. Nada. Zilch. Nothing.
Just an idea.

But in good news- we have a new principal!
Let's hope this one isn't caught with a prostitute and marijauna.
Oh what?
Did I not tell that story?
Well it's a good one...
involving prostitutes and marijauna.
You get the jist.
Super classy.
We didn't have a principal since November of last year.
You can probably google it and get all the nitty gritty details.
Made for an interesting first year of teaching :)
But it's gonna be a great year!
(Even if it does involve waking up at 5am everyday... lame...)

These Two Done Got Hitched!

Life-long hero and big brother, Daniel Edward Stone the third (epic name, huh?) got married last weekend.
Out of the 84 hours of our weekend...
35 of them were spent driving.
We're crazy.
We should have just sucked it up and bought airplane tickets.
Oh well.
Thankfully Jon and I road trip pretty well.
I sleep and take pictures, while Jon drives and eats Twizzler Nibs :)
We stopped in El Paso on the way there to get some Zzzzz's and had some delicious Texas-pride waffles in the morning
Of course- no trip to Phoenix is complete without a pit stop in Tucson for Eegee's!
If you have never been... I submit your life is incomplete.
Get to Tucson and try one... now.
Lounging before the big day on our Apple products...
They were married at the Montelucia Resort and we definitely took advantage of their amazing pool!
Taking a break inside with AC between outside picture sessions...
turns out Phoenix is hot in August :)
 The wedding party
 The hubs
Me with the Roni-meister... ready for the ceremony to start!

 Let's par-tay!
 Nicest wedding reception E.V.E.R.
Four goblets, three forks, two knives, flower shaped butter, AND in the corner of the room was a man PAINTING the scene as it happened.
Amazing.
First dance!
Ahhhh....
 So happy for them!

The Epic-ness of Harry Potter

Feeling the withdrawals that the end of the movies left in our hearts- we thought it only appropriate to celebrate Harry's birthday this year!
(And every year- let's be honest... this may become a tradition)
The party needed to be epic...
and I think we succeeded.

We tried to make it feel as much like Hogwarts as we could...
without having a castle...
in our tiny one bedroom apartment :)
I slaved away all morning on these...
 And hung em up...
I think they turned out marvelous.
And spent the other half of my day making this...
Welcome to Platform 9 3/4!
And the Fat Lady guarded the entrance to the bathroom :)
 Then come the people...
We had lots of wizards and witches-
 but the highlights WERE
Dobby, the house elf
Luna Lovegood
AND Bellatrix takes the cake-
she looked AWESOME!
We played a rousing game of "Wands"
 (like spoons... but with wands)...
losers had to eat Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans!
It was intense!
You never know what flavor you'll get!
Raspberry, rotten egg, popcorn, booger?
You thought the party couldn't get any geekier?
Oh it does.
We made wands.
Oh yes we did.
 Watch out...
we just may "levicorpus" you
;)
We also played Harry Potter "Scene It" and watched 50 greatest moments from the Harry Potter films.
Happy Birthday Harry!
We've missed you!
Until next year ;)
