You'd thought I had stopped, didn't ya?
Nope- I am still here and so are my crazy kiddos.
Even though I believe teaching has given me many grey hairs-
I love what I do.

Hope is restored in the teen generation.
I walk down the halls frequently looking like a "bag lady" with too much to carry.
Do teens ever stop and ask to help?
Not once...
Until today.
I was carrying my whole life from the computer lab back to my classroom and I hear "Miss, can I help you?"
Random sophomore student took pity on me and helped carry my stuff back to my class.
I had never met her before and she didn't know me.
She just recognized that I looked pathetic and wanted to help me.
... I wish all teens wanted to help!
It just reminded me that there are good people out there.
:)

I teach twins whose names are "Tia" and "Tamara".
Coincidence?
I think not.
I'm thinkin' her mom was a fan of "Sister Sister".
8.
*just remember that sometimes my students are pretty ghetto*
We play dance games on the Wii from time to time...
and sometimes I find the name of the Wii characters changed.
One day in particular I noticed a change...
"Chocolate Drop? Who is Chocolate Drop?"
"That's me Miss! It's my stripper name!"
So wholesome.

One of my students was telling me about a dilemma she was in and was really getting into an intense monologue, concluding with...
"I'm just really between a hard rock and a .... place.... between a hard place and a rock...
between a ...yeah..."
ALMOST got it sweetie.
6.
How can you not love a student who willingly decorates her paper like this?
5.
I've learned some pretty good slang words the past couple of months...
swerve: To dismiss or to say no to a request.
"Can I have some of your french fries?"
"Girl, swerve. Whatchoo be thinkin?"
boojee: To be or act like "snobby upper class".
"My grandma took me to some tea party this weekend with all her boojee friends."
4.
Love note from my student.
I'll take it as a compliment.
3.
Instagram permeates through a lot of casual conversations and students always want to add me.
No way, jose.
Not ever.
"Why Miss?"
"I don't want you to know what I do on the weekends!"
Oops... that sounded kind of inappropriate.
I think the guffaws and laughter from the students was a dead give away.
They are masters at twisting my words.
2.
Best student quote ever...
"When I get famous, Mrs. Brame- I got you."
That's gonna be me.
Livin' off of my students' fame and fortune!
1.
We played a game one Friday; a game that involved thinking of nouns.
Even though I teach 10-12 grade I thought I better make sure everyone knew what a noun was.
"Can someone tell me what a noun is?"
Loud and obnoxious girl yells out-
"YEAH IT'S A, E, I, O.... crapper...."
Fits of laughter ensued.
My students be so smart.
