It's true... this boy is just growing up. *sniff sniff* WELL...I don't have kids to spoil... so I spoil him. It's a good alternative :) Last March he was on tour with the Folk Dance team in Montana (without me! Boo!) and deathly sick... SOOO I tried to make this birthday a LITTLE bit better than the previous.
We started the celebrations a day early... Wednesday night is "Half Price Fajita Night" at Pappasitos... and their fajitas are to DIE for! SOOO we had to go!
We also teach Seminary on Wednesday nights and thought that it'd be the perfect time to get everyone to our house for a surprise party... and it worked! I didn't spill the beans before hand, and he REALLY had NO idea! I was so pleased... when he opened the door- he jumped out of his pants AND screamed when everyone yelled "SURPRISE!!!" Ahhh... it was priceless...
(This is a reenactment... but still a good shot!)
Make a wish!
Our friends... Scott, Addison, and Sean...
Cute lil' Hazel with Jon
Ruth, Katie and Kim...
Stefan and Vanessa... Thanks to everyone who came!
I let Jon open ONE present on his "Birthday Eve"... this is from his Mom...
Hahahaha, ok so we're BIG "Lost" nerds! But I personally think it's the coolest shirt ever ;)
FINALLY came birthday morning (today)... Lemme tell you- this boy is spoiled!! See all his presents? Some from his family, some from my family, and then some from me... he's spoiled.
He got the same card from my family and his family, hahaha. What are the odds?
Another Murder Mystery game!
A stir-fry cookbook!
to go with the Wok! He was SOO excited!
Oh wait, a barbecue grill, too? Can you tell he likes food? We just need to carry that grill around with us in our car to be TRUE Texans...
I framed his Bachelor Degree for him... kuz it was just sitting in a box! May as well hang it in his office at school, right?
AND he got football tickets to see Rice and UT play- BUT that's not until September so his reaction wasn't nearly as good...
I shouldn't complain about Jon making the bed... but he loves to arrange the pillows in weird shapes. I always end up fixing the pillows... but today his birthday present was to make the bed however he wanted. This is how it ended up!
If you're tired of reading by now- you can stop. I give you permission.
But we went climbing for his birthday! We went in Provo once... and it was disastrous kuz I have this insane fear of heights and would freeze half way up the wall... but today's go was a lot smoother!
Jon loves climbing...
I'm LEARNING to love it ;)
And our night ended by making cupcakes for our clogging group...
Jon stole the bowl and licked it clean before I knew what had happened!
Eating the finished product during clogging rehearsal...
Yay for birthdays! Happy Birthday Jon! I wish we could play like this everyday!
